GoodGym York
Local chapter of GoodGym, the UK network that combines a group run with a practical community mission (helping isolated older people, community gardening, moving furniture for charities). Flagship Yorkshire group led by area activator Vicky Hearson. Sessions usually last about 90 minutes: warm-up, a purposeful task, then a social cooldown.
Low barrier entry: turn up in trainers, no race times, the mission is the point. Good template for any city that wants exercise married to neighbour-help.
