Le Canon Français

A touring series of large communal banquets (typically €60-90/ticket, hundreds to thousands of attendees per night) celebrating French regional terroir. Long tables, local artisan food and wine, live music, full-room singing of folk and patriotic songs. Each regional edition (Breton, Basque, Gascon, etc.) features that region's cuisine and traditions. An annual Festival des Canonniers brings the whole community together for two days under regional chapiteaux. Part of proceeds fund local heritage restoration; the model relies on partnerships with small artisan producers and historic venues.

Started by two friends as a passion project, professionalized into a startup-style operation across multiple French regions. Built a recognizable 'canonniers' identity with a public Facebook group of repeat attendees who meet between events. Viral on social media in 2025 for capturing a wider hunger for offline cultural belonging. Also politically polarizing in the French press. A live example of the per-event-affordable + recurring + place-anchored hybrid model.
