Manor Garden Allotments (Hackney)

Hackney Wick / East London·London·United Kingdomest. 1900 (site history; community campaign famous 2007+)

East London allotment community on the historic Manor Gardens site, known for multi-ethnic plot-holders and a fierce campaign to keep growing space through Olympic-era development. Plot work, shared water and annual shows create a quiet micro-village.

Allotment belonging under pressure: the campaign made this site a national symbol of urban growing culture.
