Paperhand Puppet Project
A North Carolina puppetry collective that creates giant figures, masks, shadow plays and pageants from papier-mache, cardboard, bamboo, cloth and reused materials. Artists and volunteers share the building, drumming, sewing, carrying and performance work behind each public spectacle.
The group describes community as its lifeblood and uses collaborative puppetry to connect people with one another, social justice and the natural world.

Other community puppetry & giant-puppet troupes
A political theater company that combines giant puppets, music, pageantry and shared bread. Its outdoor productions depend on resident artists, apprentices, local families and large volunteer crews who build, rehearse and move figures together across the Vermont farm landscape.
A Twin Cities community of artists that makes puppets and masks for performances, public events and education. Workshops, camps, artist gatherings and a free puppet lending library give children and adults recurring ways to learn, collaborate and carry handmade characters into the wider community.
