PulsePoint Respond / AED
911-connected app that, when a public-place cardiac arrest is dispatched, alerts every CPR-trained user within ~500m of the patient and routes them to the nearest registered AED. >4m users; ~1m responders dispatched to 294,000 cardiac-arrest events by Nov 2024. Cities/counties/agencies adopt PulsePoint as a public-health infrastructure.
Agencies publish coverage maps showing % of registered CPR responders vs population, % of AEDs mapped, and bystander-CPR rates per jurisdiction - de facto benchmarking between cities/counties. PulsePoint Foundation also runs the AED Challenge (cities recruit citizens to register every AED in town).
Mutual-aid by design: an off-duty nurse, firefighter or trained neighbour gets pinged for the person collapsing two doors down. The shared AED registry becomes a community asset everyone in the neighborhood contributes to.
Rare combo of (a) very-local mutual-support mechanic that literally saves lives within blocks and (b) inter-area coverage benchmarking that makes cities compete to look good on bystander-CPR rates. Maps directly to BelongHub's intra+inter framing.
