The Big Lunch (Eden Project Communities)
An annual UK-wide initiative inviting neighbors to host a shared meal on their street, in a community garden or hall. Every June. Run by Eden Project Communities; over 7 million people take part each year. Free, hyperlocal, organized by anyone who registers; chapter handbook open.
Proof that the long-table primitive scales to a whole country in one weekend if you give people a date and a free handbook.

Other long-table supper clubs & loneliness dinners
Pairs cooks who make an extra portion with older neighbours who would otherwise eat alone. Run as a council/social-impact partnership across multiple London boroughs and elsewhere. The meal is the wedge; the visit is the point.
A community dining room serving pay-as-you-can meals six days a week around shared tables. Diners choose what they can contribute and sit down with other people rather than eating alone, while volunteers, cooks and local suppliers sustain a dependable place for food and conversation.
A national network of designated Chatter and Natter tables in cafes, pubs and community venues. Trained volunteers host a regular table, welcome anyone who wants company and help the same public space become a predictable place for light conversation and new local connections.
Guided community dinner format seating strangers across political and social difference for a structured meal. Local hosts use an open playbook; each supper is a concrete table in a concrete room, not a brand page alone.
