Cabin. Neighborhoods, Outposts & ₡ABIN votes

Network-city DAO / coliving directory · 21+ properties globally (US, France, Costa Rica, Portugal, Slovenia, Bali, Japan) · 2021-2025 (DAO wound down 2025; network still operates)

Cabin built a directory where coliving properties register as Outposts (informal listings) and can be promoted to official 'Neighborhoods' once they meet criteria (≥4 bedrooms, 20mbps) and accumulate 1,000 ₡ABIN votes from the community. The token treasury was distributed when the DAO wound down in 2025, but the directory and the Neighborhood/Outpost framework remain.

Areas compete

Outposts compete for the 1,000-₡ABIN vote threshold to become recognized Neighborhoods. An explicit place-vs-place ranking visible on cabin.city/vote.

People support each other

Each Outpost/Neighborhood is run as a tight local team (host, coliving residents) who coordinate offerings (events, work trades, shared meals) listed in their directory entry. Pride/identity attached to a single property.

Why this is worth knowing

One of the clearest worked examples of a token-voted place-recognition ladder. BelongHub-relevant pattern: an Outpost→Neighborhood progression with a public vote is a copyable game loop.
