Olio Food Waste Hero Postcode Leaderboard

food sharing inter-postcode leaderboard · UK & Ireland · Leaderboard live, monthly refresh (current 2025-26)

Olio's Food Waste Hero programme ranks both the top 100 individual volunteers AND the top 100 postcodes monthly by quantity of food rescued and shared. Postcodes compete on a live dashboard accessible to volunteers.

Areas compete

Top-100 *postcode* leaderboard refreshed every month based on total items shared through the app within that postcode. Postcodes compete directly against each other for ranking.

People support each other

All Food Waste Heroes operating in a postcode pool their pickups and shares into the postcode total, so volunteers in the same area coordinate routes, supermarket pickups and drop-off times to keep their postcode high on the board. Top volunteers within the postcode are also named.

Why this is worth knowing

Concrete production example of postcode-level competition (not city-level) - the granularity that BelongHub is interested in. Olio's listed in the brief but the *postcode leaderboard mechanic* is an under-mentioned variant worth surfacing.
