Berlin Kiez (Discovery & Collection App)
iPhone app that turns Berlin's ~190 Kieze (named micro-neighbourhoods) into a collectable set. Players visit Kieze in person to 'collect' them, unlock achievements for traversing whole districts, and see neighbourhood borders in AR.
Achievements and stats compare players by Kieze visited; players in different districts/Kieze can compare collections and compete on coverage. Implicit ranking by completeness of Kiez collection.
The Kiez identity itself drives local pride: collectors who 'main' a Kiez (collect everything within it, post about it) become hyperlocal advocates. AR border view encourages locals to introduce others to the precise boundary of their Kiez - a strong tribal-identity reinforcer.
Unusual in that the 'inter-area competition' is *cartographic* (collecting micro-neighbourhoods, like Pokémon) rather than activity-based. Berlin's Kiez culture provides a rare, named, sub-postcode unit that is the perfect granularity for BelongHub's catalog.
