Wijkhelden ('Neighbourhood Heroes')
App for residents who clean their own neighbourhood ('Wijkhelden' = neighbourhood heroes). Users log cleanup routes, see other heroes' routes in their wijk, and coordinate cleanup coverage. Backed by Dutch waste authority DAR.
Each Dutch wijk (neighbourhood) has its own set of heroes with logged routes; wijken can be compared on cleanup activity and coverage. Public route maps highlight which wijken are well-covered vs. neglected.
Heroes within a wijk can see each other's logged routes so they avoid overlap and cover gaps - explicit intra-area coordination tool. The visible route network creates local solidarity and accountability among hero peers.
Low-key, non-English, government-backed example of a litter-picking app that's specifically built around *neighbourhood unit* coordination (not generic). Under-mentioned outside NL. Demonstrates how route-map UX can drive intra-area teamwork.

Berlin Kiez (Discovery & Collection App)

Voisins Vigilants & Solidaires
French neighborhood app combining mutual aid, classifieds, geolocated safety alerts, and a local-services directory. Subscribed by municipalities; free for residents. Includes a 'gazette' and directory per neighborhood.
Decidim process-groups + Barcelona/Helsinki/NYC participatory budgeting district tiers
Decidim's 'process groups' feature is explicitly designed for grouping parallel participatory budgets per district/neighbourhood. NYC's PB ran in 30 of 51 council districts in 2021-22, each with at least $1M to spend, residents drop pins on a map to pitch ideas. Helsinki's OmaStadi splits city budget by area (Itäinen, Eteläinen, Pohjoinen, etc.) with separate ideation, deliberation and vote per area.
Colab.re - Brazilian municipal app with neighbourhood reports
